President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to all officers and participants of the 80th Independence Day ceremony held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the event. Prabowo emphasized his pride in the smooth and spirited execution of the ceremony, urging Ceremony Commander Colonel Slamet to personally convey his thanks to every participant.
Following the president’s instructions, the majority of invitations were extended to the general public. The day’s festivities included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, a People’s Festival featuring cultural performances and culinary delights, and a fireworks display at Monas. The celebrations will culminate in the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025, traversing from Monas to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, marking the pinnacle of the 80th Independence Day festivities.
