The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully completed a humanitarian aid mission to the Gaza Strip in Palestine on August 17, 2025, coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th independence anniversary. This mission was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas).
Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan, at 10:37 a.m. local time and conducted an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza before safely returning to the forward operating base at 12:25 p.m. local time. Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, stated that the mission proceeded smoothly without any major obstacles.
The aid packages included essential supplies such as staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. This mission was carried out under the direct orders of President Prabowo Subianto, showcasing Indonesia’s commitment to international humanitarian solidarity.
The success of the mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was celebrated as a moment of national pride, highlighting the country’s active role on the global stage and its contributions to global peace. Yulianto described this achievement as a historic milestone and a special gift for Indonesia on its Independence Day.
