President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to advancing the role of Indonesian scientists on the global stage was emphasized by Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Noudhy Valdryno in Jakarta. President Prabowo envisions greater collaboration between Indonesian researchers and international scientists to illuminate Indonesia’s path towards becoming a developed nation. He encourages scientists to be more present in the public sphere, highlighting their strategic importance in achieving the administration’s target of 8 percent economic growth over the next five years. This vision aligns with the Asta Cita, particularly the fourth pillar which focuses on strengthening human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievement, gender equality, and the empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

To support scientific advancement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is hosting the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in West Java. The convention aims to bring together the nation’s top scientific minds and unite researchers and academics in STEM fields to advance the nation. With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 serves as a collaborative platform connecting academia, industry, government, media, and civil society to accelerate Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy. The event has attracted over 2,000 scientists from across the country. Minister Brian described KSTI as a strategic initiative to drive Indonesia’s scientific and technological progress.
