Mukhtamar Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) segera digelar di Jawa Tengah, and one of the PPP figures, Taj Yasin Maimoen or better known as Gus Yasin, expressed his hope for the forum to achieve a common agreement for the future of PPP. Emphasizing the importance of a clean election process for the Chairman of PPP free from transactional practices, Gus Yasin stated his expectation for everything to be conducted properly. In a forum held at Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan in Semarang on Saturday, May 3, 2025, Gus Yasin declared his support for Agus Suparmanto as the candidate for the Chairman of PPP. He further expressed his hopes for the new leadership in PPP to genuinely fight for the rights of the people and prioritize Islamic values in the party’s policies.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Romahurmuziy or Romy, also highlighted the foundation of PPP in pesantren and ulama, mentioning the need for PPP to rejuvenate its appearance and approach to be more appealing to young voters. Gus Romy stressed PPP’s main target in the upcoming election to re-enter the parliament. He expressed optimism and belief that PPP can achieve this with the support of everyone. Gus Romy also proposed holding the PPP Mukhtamar in Semarang as a tribute to the message from KH. Maimun Zubair, citing significant changes in the Republic that originated from Central Java. The forum of Ulama and PPP Cadres agreed on selecting a new Chairman in the upcoming Mukhtamar with the target of securing a seat in the parliament in 2029 to strengthen PPP’s electability.
