Dalam kesempatan yang sama, anggota Majelis Kerapatan Adat (MKA) LAMR Kabupaten Bengkalis, Datok H. Muhammad Sidik, memberikan pemaparan mengenai hakikat adat Melayu dan kebesarannya.
According to one of the officials of LAMR Bengkalis, Datuk Haji Muhammad Sidik, the greatness of the Malays is not only seen from history and the extensive geographical spread, but also from the richness of the customs, culture, teachings, deliberation, morals, manners, and harmony in social life.
He explained that Malay customs are divided into four levels, namely True Customs, Customary Customs, Customary Customs, and Customs. He explained that True Customs come from the ordinances of Allah SWT and the values of truth that must not conflict with religious teachings. Customary Customs are rules agreed upon by society as a collective guide. Customary are the hereditary habits that live among the people, while Customs are related to the customs, traditions, and ceremonial customs of Malay society. “Malay customs teach manners, good manners, respect for parents, respect for others, upholding dignity, and living based on religious values. All of this is part of the teachings of Malay customs that must be passed on to the younger generation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy DPH LAMR Bengkalis, Datuk H. Muchlizar, specifically explained about the marriage customs of the Malays. He explained that marriage in Malay customs is not just ceremonial, but has stages, rules, values, and meanings that are rich in teaching and uphold the dignity of the Malays.
Understanding of Malay marriage customs must be passed on to the younger generation so that the implementation of customs does not lose its essence and meaning. Customs must continue to be carried out in accordance with the provisions passed down by the ancestors while adapting to the times without losing its fundamental values,” he said.
The visit was expected to be the beginning of cooperation between SD Negeri 5 Bengkalis and LAMR Kabupaten Bengkalis in supporting culture-based education and the preservation of Malay customs. The event took place in a warm and familial atmosphere.
Ketua Majelis Kerapatan Adat (MKA) LAMR Kabupaten Bengkalis, Datok Seri H. Ilham Nur, closed the meeting with the hope that the camaraderie would strengthen the joint commitment to building an educated generation with character, identity, and love for Malay culture. Through this camaraderie, it is hoped that communication and collaboration between the world of education and LAMR will continue to be maintained in preserving the existence of Malay culture amidst the changing times.
