The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force completed a successful humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on Sunday, August 17, 2025. This mission was a joint effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time, carrying out an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza before returning safely to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.
Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, reported that the mission went smoothly without any major challenges. The aid packages distributed included essential items such as staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical supplies, blankets, and supplies specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally authorized the mission, demonstrating Indonesia’s commitment to international humanitarian efforts.
The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was celebrated as a moment of national pride, underscoring the country’s active role on the global stage and its contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto described this accomplishment as a historic milestone and a special Independence Day gift to Indonesia.
