The celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta was a jubilant affair, with a cultural parade uniting citizens from different regions in a march towards the State Palace. Among the lively festivities, heartfelt prayers and hopeful wishes were shared for President Prabowo Subianto and the country’s future.
Aryati, a resident of Karanganyar Subdistrict in Sawah Besar District, expressed her gratitude for participating in the parade. She joyfully exclaimed, “We were honored to be part of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration. I am thrilled to be part of today’s event.” She expressed her desire for Indonesia to progress and prosper, especially for all its people. Aryati also prayed for the President’s health and for peace, prosperity, and harmony for all Indonesian citizens.
In alignment with Aryati’s sentiments, her companion emphasized the significance of national unity. She hoped for positive changes that would benefit all Indonesians, promoting health, prosperity, and safety. She also emphasized the importance of unity among different ethnic groups and religions.
Another participant, Satim from Kampung Rawa in Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, expressed his happiness and pride at being able to join the celebration. He wished for Indonesia to achieve greater success, progress, prosperity, and welfare, while emphasizing the need for strong leadership that protects and serves the people.
For these citizens, the gathering at Monas held more than celebratory value; it symbolized their love for the nation and their collective aspiration for lasting peace in Indonesia.
