Indonesia commemorates National Children’s Day as more than just an annual event. President Prabowo Subianto envisions this day as a catalyst for tangible actions to safeguard the future of the nation’s youth. Senior Expert Dedek Prayudi from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) highlighted three key programs aimed at enhancing children’s well-being: Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization. MBG focuses not only on providing meals but also on ensuring children receive essential daily nutrition, addressing the issue of 60% of school-aged children attending school without having breakfast. This leads to concentration issues and ultimately, iron deficiency anemia, impacting cognitive development. The Free Health Checkups cover various aspects of health and align with the constitutional rights to health for all citizens, especially children. Furthermore, the School Revitalization Program intends to refurbish over 11,000 schools across Indonesia, targeting schools in remote or underdeveloped areas lacking proper facilities. President Prabowo has allocated significant funds to address the growing number of damaged schools, emphasizing the importance of providing a safe and dignified learning environment for all students.
