President Prabowo Subianto is dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivileged by implementing key programs to not only meet immediate needs but also create a path for future generations to escape poverty. Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono emphasized the importance of programs like Sekolah Rakyat, Kopdes Merah Putih, and MBG in achieving this goal during a discussion titled Accelerating the Success of President Prabowo’s Programs. The Sekolah Rakyat program aims to disrupt the cycle of poverty being passed down from generation to generation, highlighting education as the key to breaking this pattern. President Prabowo’s administration focuses on eradicating poverty with a target of eliminating extreme poverty by 2026 and reducing the national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029 through social interventions and community empowerment programs. Adita Irawati, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communications Office, outlined the administration’s three-pronged strategy involving the People’s School initiative, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools. The Red-and-White Village Cooperatives aim to stimulate local economies and promote self-sufficiency by creating new jobs and empowering both rural and urban communities. Scheduled to launch the Kopdes Merah Putih program on July 21, 2025, President Prabowo aims to establish 80,000 cooperatives nationwide to empower communities to meet their own needs and generate livelihoods. The government’s commitment to uplifting the poor and breaking the cycle of poverty is reflected in these initiatives to bring tangible benefits to those in need.
