Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the recapitulation results on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his thanks to the people who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the General Election Supervisory Board (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic process ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Maju Indonesia Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big appreciation to TNI-Polri for conducting the 2024 election in an orderly, safe, and peaceful manner,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Indonesian Maju Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairmen and all members of political parties within it. Additionally, Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We extend our thanks and appreciation to all chairmen and members of all parties in KIM, as well as TKN, volunteers, and mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo urged all Indonesian people to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst diversity.
“We call on all Indonesian people to look forward together, unite, and work hand in hand. We must harmonize, cooperate to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” Prabowo said.
“We must reinforce the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, that is good. We respect differences. The election has ended, we must respect all choices made by the people,” he continued.
Finally, he affirmed that Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people. Prabowo stated that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the mandate of the people is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesian people. For those who did not vote for us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be presidents and vice presidents who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
